Edible Crayons? What a Fun Gift for Teacher

How funny is this! Edible crayons. Perfect for gift for your kids teachers. You could empty out a new box of crayons (right now they are anywhere from 40 to 50 cents a box) and put these homemade crayons inside! They may be taller than the box but that's the joy of it, but if they aren't just put some tissue paper in the bottom of the box.  Wrap a ribbon around the box and you've got a very unique present for the first day of school.

Here's a tray of them all made up! So Cute! Make up several different crayon colors. Print the labels on different color cardstock and you're good to go!.

They fit nicely in this pencil box too. It's art and a snack at the same time.
Click Here to go to Gourmet Mom on the Go to get the crayon label download and more instructions on this fun treat

A DIY Slip n Slide (AMAZING) and a Fun DIY Sprinkler!

Don't you just feel so great when you can build something yourself, save money and enjoy yourself!! I know I do.  Here's two great projects where you can do just that. First the slip-n- slide

Make it yourself and make it the size you want! Excellent!
These supplies look relatively inexpensive-Swimming Noodles should be really cheap right now as stores are putting all their summer toys on sale.  Get the complete tutorial Here at DigitalMisery.com   Excellent for summer play....what about using it for your end of the summer party!  Odds are that it will be the best party of the summer...

Now here's a DIY Sprinkler
All you need for this project is some PVC pipe, Elbows and PVC Cement!
Find all supplies and instructions Here, at Home Spun Threads
Have the sprinkler at the little kids and the slip-n-slide for the bigger kids....that way everyone is having fun and no one is left out.

Two Excellent Uses for Rain Gutters-Ribbon and Plants

If you liked the Rain Gutters for Bookshelves  (earlier post of ours) then you're really going to love this fun idea for the Rain Gutters. Store your ribbon in them!   The best news about this storage system is that you can make them as long horizontally or you can have several shelves vertically. You will never run out of storage for your ribbon again! Yea!!!  And if you really wanted to coordinate the rain gutters to your craft room you might take them out and spray paint them a lovely color! (They're going to look so great in your craft room)

All your ribbon all in one place! Very Cool!

Now you can go out and buy all the ribbon you want (?) But don't tell your husband I said that!

FOUND: another good use for the Rain Gutters!

Find out how to grow your vegetables in Rain Gutters here {Tutorial} I have an outdoor patio just like this one and I am definitely trying this next year. Nothing's better than going out into your backyard to get fresh produce and organic at that. Here's another Tutorial for Rain Gutter Planters
But if you don't have something to hang then on then do what these people have done....Put them on the side of your home that gets the most sun. The lettuce is even safe from the bunnies!

{Free Printable) Paper Dolls-The Perfect Bordom Chaser

I was so excited to see these darling paper dolls that you can download, print and make yourself.  Included is the girl cutout, a long dress and a short dress.  As with any paper craft, the kids can design their dresses anyway they want by adding any type of embellishments such as paper cutouts, glitter, gems and by using paper punches and paper edgers.  So darling!  Guaranteed to keep them busy for a good long time.  All you need is:

Pencil
3 sheets of heavy cardstock
An assortment of patterned papers
Paper Glue
Double-Stick tape
Computer and printer

Thanks for Designer Laurie Cinotto from Fiskars, for these very cute Paper Dolls! Head on over to Fiskars to read more about this fun project for the girls. Didn't you make up clothes for your dolls when you were a little girl? I did and they weren't nearly as cute as these are.

To make it an even more memorable afternoon---Make the most delicious, gooey, chocolate treat you can think of (you know, just something everyone would enjoy) to end the play day.  Now you've just created a wonderful memory.
